[en] Advanced Routing Overview

[en] Firmware 0.9 introduces new signal routing options that allow all RR-R2 fixtures to bridge a variety of wired and wireless lighting protocols within the fixture itself

Advanced Routing Release Animation for Quasar Science Firmware 0.9A

[en] Many features have been upgraded and known issues fixed from previous software releases. You can read about in the [en] Firmware 0.9 Explained article.

[en] Advanced Routing Modes
  • [en] starCTRL Mode: As introduced in firmware 0.8b, starCTRL now resides under the Advanced Routing options and gives you access to Bluetooth control of up to a total (7) RR and R2 fixtures via the starCTRL iOS app . See our guide to find out >Was ist starCTRL< for directions and use.

  • [en] DMX → CRMX: The RR-R2 can take a wired DMX input and transmit Wireless DMX out while maintaining the ability to daisy chain the wired DMX connection to additional fixtures.

  • [en] ArtNet → DMX: (formerly NodeMode) This takes the wired ArtNet input and converts it to wired DMX Out. You may independently assign the input/output universes.

  • [en] ArtNet → CRMX*: The RR-R2 can take wired ArtNet input and transmit Wireless DMX out. You may independently assign the input/output universes. (i.e. the fixture can follow Uni 1 but transmit Uni 2 as Wireless DMX).

  • [en] sACN → DMX: (formerly NodeMode) This takes wired sACN input and converts it to wired DMX Out from any available sACN Universe.

  • [en] sACN → CRMX*: The RR-R2 can take wired sACN input and transmit Wireless DMX from any available sACN Universe. (i.e. the fixture can follow Uni 1 but transmit Uni 2 as Wireless DMX)

  • [en] CRMX → DMX: The RR-R2 can be linked as a CRMX Receiver and pass the incoming Wireless DMX signal to its wired DMX output

  • [en] BT → DMX: The RR-R2 can take control data from a Bluetooth connection and pass that signal to the wired DMX output port.

  • [en] WiFi Client → DMX: The RR-R2 can client into an existing WiFi network and accept ArtNet-over-WiFi and pass that signal to the wired DMX output port.

  • [en] WiFi AP → DMX: The RR-R2 can act as a WiFi Access Point for a network and accept ArtNet-over-WiFi and pass that signal to the wired DMX output port, but also allow other RR-R2 fixtures to connect as WiFi clients. 0.9a currently supports a total of (4) Client connections at one time (i.e. an iPad + 3 client fixtures).

Anmerkung

[en] *Double Rainbow (RR) fixtures allow for the wired Ethernet connections to be daisy chained when acting as a Wireless TX since their ports are an actual network switch. R2 output ports are DMX-only and not active in Ethernet→CRMX modes.
