Updating RR & R2 Firmware
How to Update Your RR and R2 Linear Lights
The RR & R2 fixtures must be updated with a USB-C thumb drive formatted as Microsoft FAT or FAT32 with the files in the root directory. (exFAT will not allow the Firmware files to be found by the fixture.)

Important
The Wi-Fi module must be updated separately if needed. Currently, the Wi-Fi Module update can only be completed over Wi-Fi. Click here for instructions.
Download the latest firmware update files from https://www.quasarscience.com/pages/support-double-rainbow-and-rainbow-2
It is recommend to download the .zip file since it contains all the files you will need to fully update the fixture. (Boot Loader, Fixture Firmware and TimoTwo Firmware)
Copy the files to the root directory of your USB-C drive. The files may look something like this: QS_PC_FW_0.9A.bin or QS_PC_BL_1.0.bin
If the fixture is on, power off the light.
Press and hold the ENTER button on the fixture. While holding ENTER press & hold the POWER button for 3 seconds. This will put the fixture in Boot Loader Mode (aka Firmware Update mode)
The Data LED will flash blue and the LCD Display will show [Insert USB] when the fixture is in Firmware Update Mode.
Insert the USB-C thumb drive with the firmware on it.
The fixture will then install all updates found on the drive. It will first check to see if you have a new Boot Loader file. If it is newer than what is on the light it will install the new version. Then the fixture will reboot and install the new RR-R2 Firmware. It will check for the highest version number of all relevant files..
When the update is complete the Status LEDs will flash green and the light will reboot again. Please note at that you should see the newest firmware version indicated on the LCD Display while the fixture boots up.
If you've included the .cci file (and using Firmware 0.7b or later) the RR-R2 will check the TimoTwo firmware and automatically update it if needed.
When completed you can navigate to the menu [CONFIG → FIRMWARE] to check the firmware version installed on the fixture.
If you need to exit Boot Loader mode, tap the power button.
DO NOT REMOVE THE USB-C DRIVE DURING THE UPDATE PROCESS!
If the Firmware update process is interrupted and the fixture becomes unresponsive, it can be placed into update mode using the hardware shortcut of holding the [ENTER] button while plugging in the fixture to power.
Notice
If you have copied your files to the USB-C Drive and inserted the thumb drive and the screen locks up at [Mounted the USB], the drive may not be compatible with the RR or R2. The SMI USB driver controllers in some USB drives are not compatible. Please try a different brand or type of USB-C drive.
