Wired Settings Control Menu

Allows for wired control of Quasar Fixtures

There are three main menus within the Wired Mode menu: DMX512, Art-net and sACN. Wired input require additional settings in the [Config Menu] such as DMX Address. Art-Net and sACN require additional settings in the [Ethernet Settings] menu.

  • Config Menu - Set the DMX Profile, Pixel Count and DMX Address of the fixture

  • Wired Mode - Choose DMX512 or Ethernet for wired control the light.

    • DMX512 - Control the light with DMX512 wired input

    • sACN - Control the light with sACN Multicast or Unicast

    • Art-Net - Control the light with Art-Net4 Broadcast or Unicast

  • Ethernet Settings

    • View IP Address - Show the IP address automatically received through DHCP or the Static IP address set.

    • IP Address Mode - Set the IP Address Mode.

      • DHCP (Auto) - Allow the light to obtain the IP address from the router automatically.

      • Static - Allows the manual setting of the IP address on the fixture.

    • Save DHCP as Static - Save the info received from the DHCP Router and save as a Static IP, and changes Mode to Static IP.

    • IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway - Enter the IP address, Subnet mask, and Gateway.

    • Input Universe - Set the listening Universe for the light.

    • Output Universe- Sets the Output Universe for Advanced Routing modes.

DMX512-A

Send a DMX signal into the LAN 1 port of the Quasar Fixture. On all Quasar Fixtures LAN 2 outputs the DMX signal. The Quasar Fixture will need a starting DMX address that corresponds with the Patch on the control console.

Note

The LAN ports on RR fixtures are an actual network switch. This allows daisy-chaining of RR fixtures using sACN or Art-Net. But R2 fixtures only pass DMX to the Output port since it is not a switch.

To set the start address of the Quasar Fixture in Wired DMX Control:

Go to Config Menu → DMX Channel

To set the Wired Input signal

Go to Config Menu → Wired Mode → DMX512

Art-Net

Receive Art-Net into the LAN 1 Port of the Quasar Fixture. Quasar RR fixtures output the Art-Net signal on the LAN 2 port. Quasar R2 fixtures DO NOT output Art-net on the LAN 2 port. Fixtures receiving Art-net require the following settings to function.

  • IP Address

  • Subnet Mask

  • Router

  • Universe

  • Starting DMX Address

If there is a DHCP server on the Lighting Network the IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Router can set automatically in the IP Addr Mode by Enabling Auto.

To configure the lamp to receive Art-net if using DHCP:
  • Go to Config → Wired Mode → Art-net

  • Config → Ethernet Settings → IP Addr Mode -> Auto

  • Config → Ethernet Settings → Input Universe

  • Config → DMX Channel → Set the Address

To configure the lamp to receive Art-net if using Static IP addresses:
  • Go to Config → Wired Mode → Art-net

  • Config → Ethernet Settings → IP Addr Mode -> Static

  • Config → Ethernet Settings → Set IP Addr

  • Config → Ethernet Settings → Set Subnet Mask

  • Config → Ethernet Settings → Set Gateway

  • Config → Ethernet Settings → Input Universe

  • Config → DMX Channel → Set the Address

sACN

Receives sACN into LAN 1 of the fixture. RR models can daisy chain the ethernet signal. R2 Output ports are DMX only.

Multicast sACN

When using Multicast sACN all IP Address settings can be ignored since the fixture will use the Input Universe to subscribe to the correct sACN Multicast stream from the control source. This is by far the easiest control method and is the Default Setting of the fixture.

  • Config → DMX Channel → Set the DMX Address

  • Config → Ethernet Settings → Input Universe

Unicast sACN

When using Unicast you must set a unique IP address for every device on the network in order to avoid IP Address conflicts. Follow the same steps above for Art-Net since the IP requirements are the same.
